What are Psychotherapy & Counselling
Counselling is a mix of careful listening and enquiry in order to understand the unique story of each individual. For many people coming to Counselling the feeling is of being really listened to, maybe for the first time in their lives.
Counselling isn’t just about a sympathetic ear, a well trained Counsellor can help us make sense of our thoughts feelings and behaviour.
Psychotherapy is generally a deeper and longer term process than Counselling. We employ the same methods of active listening and enquiry but the purpose of Psychotherapy is to facilitate change at a deeper level.
